Greetings and Welcome to Making It Right, a section of the site I put in to address some issues that don't deal with the films that Corridor Filmworks make, yet are just as equally important. On this section I will be posting links to various amazing organizations and causes which I believe are of great importance and are attempting to bring a little bit of justice and peace into our otherwise scary world. Remember, my views do not necessarily reflect those of everyone at Corridor Filmworks, and they are put here by me. So visit the links below, and I hope they help you to help someone else. Thanks.

Oxfam International

Oxfam International is a confederation of 12 organizations working together in more than 100 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty, suffering and injustice. With many of the causes of poverty global in nature, members of Oxfam International believe they can achieve greater impact in addressing issues of poverty by their collective efforts.

Make Trade Fair

The Make Trade Fair campaign is calling on governments, institutions, and multinational companies to change the rules so that trade can become part of the solution to poverty, not part of the problem. They want to work with the many organisations and individuals around the world who are already campaigning to ensure that trade makes a real difference in the fight against poverty. Together, they aim to build the kind of movement that has brought an end to apartheid, banned the use of landmines, and made real progress in reducing Third World debt.

Axis of Justice

Axis of Justice is a non-profit political organization formed by Tom Morello of Audioslave/Rage Against the Machine and Serj Tankian of System of a Down. Its purpose is to bring together musicians, fans of music, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice together. They aim to build a bridge between fans of music around the world and local political organizations to effectively organize around issues of peace, human rights, and economic justice.

Food Not Bombs

Food Not Bombs is one of the fastest growing revolutionary movements active today and is gaining momentum. There are hundreds of autonomous chapters sharing free vegetarian food with hungry people and protesting war and poverty throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. Food Not Bombs is organizing for an end to the occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. They also support actions against the globalization of the economy, restrictions to the movements of people and the destruction of the earth.

Amnesty International

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Free Speech TV

Finally, after 50 years of television broadcasting, there now exists a national television channel that reflects the diversity of our society, provides perspectives that are under-represented or ignored by the mainstream media, and shines a national spotlight on engaged citizens working for progressive social change.

The Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu Jamal

Mumia Abu-Jamal is an award-winning Pennsylvania journalist who exposed police violence against minority communities. On death row since 1982, he was wrongfully sentenced for the shooting of a police officer. New evidence, including the recantation of a key eyewitness, new ballistic and forensic evidence and a confession from Arnold Beverly (one of the two killers of Officer Faulkner) points to his innocence! Mumia had no criminal record. This site is dedicated to the fight for justice in Mumia's case. Please visit it and find out more.

Stop The War Coalition

The aim of the Coalition should be very simple: to stop the war currently declared by the United States and its allies against ‘terrorism’. They condemn the attacks on New York and they feel the greatest compassion for those who lost their life on 11th September 2001. But any war will simply add to the numbers of innocent dead, cause untold suffering, political and economic instability on a global scale, increase racism and result in attacks on civil liberties. The aims of the campaign would be best expressed in the name Stop the War Coalition.

Leonard Peltier Defense Committee

This site is dedicated to the case of Leonard Peltier, a member of the American Indian Movement who has been wrongfully imprisoned for the past 27 years, for the alleged murder of two FBI agents on June 26, 1975. Please visit the site and find out more about this situation.
